- Meet David De Bruin
We are Pleased to Welcome David L. De Bruin to the Intellectual Property Litigation Group
David L. De Bruin is a seasoned patent trial and appellate attorney who focuses his practice on patent litigation in the federal courts. Dave has tried patent cases in a variety of venues before judges and juries and has successfully argued numerous patent cases before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. As a member of the patent bar, he also has experience representing clients challenging patents in inter partes review proceedings and reexaminations before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Dave earned his B.S. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his J.D. and M.P.P. from the University of Michigan. To learn more about Dave, please click here.
- Steve Weiss Honored
Steven A. Weiss to Chair the ABA Section of Litigation
Steven A. Weiss, Chairman of Schopf & Weiss LLP, was elected on August 9, 2013, to lead the American Bar Association’s (“ABA”) 55,000 member Section of Litigation, the ABA’s largest section, and the largest association of litigation lawyers in the world. He will serve as the Section’s Vice-Chair during the 2013 – 2014 bar year. He will automatically become the Chair-Elect for 2014 – 2015 and will begin his one-year term as Chair of the Section at the conclusion of the ABA Annual Meeting in August 2015. This honor follows from Mr. Weiss’s many years of service to the Litigation Section in a variety of roles including Council Member (2010-2013), Managing Director (2009-2010) and Co-Chair of the Commercial and Business Litigation Committee (2005-2007).
