Bio

Todd Flaming litigates complex cases involving patents and technology.  His clients have included some of the largest and most technically advanced companies in the world, including Boeing, C.R. Bard, Sun Chemical, Toshiba, Walgreens, Yahoo!, and Yamaha.  He was chosen in both 2008 and 2009 for the peer reviewed Best Lawyers in America for Technology Law.  He has also represented cutting-edge startup companies, successfully trying challenging cases during early days of the Internet.  

Mr. Flaming is an Adjunct Professor of Law at John Marshall School of Law, where he teaches courses on technology and law.  He is a well-known author and speaker, having written three books and the Illinois Bar Journal's technology column for a decade, and having been featured on NBC Nightly News.  He also serves as President of the Board of Directors of Illinois Legal Aid Online, a not-for-profit company aimed at using technology to enable underserved communities access to justice.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago.

Mr. Flaming is a 1993 graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review and Law School Roundtable.  He received his Bachelor's degree from Loyola Marymount University in 1988, where he debated competitively and reached the semi-finals of the National Debate Tournament.
